J. Anderson Davis
J. Anderson (Andy) Davis is a partner of Brinson, Askew, Berry, Seigler, Richardson & Davis, LLP. Andy specializes in complex business litigation, personal injury, governmental official liability, and product liability. He serves as an Assistant City Attorney for the City of Rome, is the lead attorney for the Rome-Floyd County Development Authority, and is Counsel for Shorter University f/k/a Shorter College.
For the past five years, Andy has been recognized as a Georgia Super Lawyer, a joint project of Law & Politics Magazine and Atlanta Magazine. Andy has tried numerous cases in federal and superior courts. Recently, Andy and Sam Lucas, an associate, tried a week-long wrongful death case in the United States District Court, and won a 30 million dollar verdict. He and fellow partner, Robert Brinson served as lead and liaison counsel for 56 funeral homes in the class action litigation from the Tri-State Crematory, Noble, Ga. In re Tri-State Crematory Litigation, 215 F.R.D. 660 (N.D. Ga 2003) (Order, Aug. 16, 2002).
In 1998, Andy received one of the first ever awarded Georgia Supreme Court Chief Justice Benham Awards for Community Service. Andy has been recognized by several organizations for his contributions to his community. He received the Distinguished Service Award from the Rome Jaycees and the Silver Beaver Award from the Northwest Georgia Council of Boy Scouts of America. In 2002, he received one of the Heart of the Community Awards presented by the Heart of the Community Foundation and Redmond Regional Medical Center to unsung heroes. In 2002, Andy served as chairman of the board for Leadership Georgia, an affiliate of the Georgia Chamber of Commerce. He has served as a state host for the Georgia Chamber's state-wide Fall Feather Hunt, and the 2006, 2007 and 2008 Red Carpet Tour.
